Third in the 23rd Psalms series about a rabbi and a Protestant church secretary who solve murders, this one was a huge departure from the cozy genre represented by the earlier books in the series. The body count for this one could rival some action/adventure flicks! And, the deaths were very definitely NOT "off-screen" as it were. There was also some character development that seemed to come out of left field. I expected Jeremiah to be ruthless (there are hints about prior military service in Israel in earlier books), but I didn't expect Cindy to be so blood-thirsty.
There's still lot to learn about these characters, and while this was not my favorite of the series, I am looking forward to the next installment.
